Be a Host Family to an International Student
January 31- February 7, 2017
Florida State College at Jacksonville invites you to the experience of a lifetime, the opportunity to host a rising leader from Central America in your home January 31-February 7, 2017.
The Central American Youth Ambassador (CAYA) Program is a U.S. Department of State Youth Exchange designed to strengthen the leadership skills of young people from Central America and the United States. Students will stay with host families and participate in educational and leadership workshops. This multi -individual exchange also builds bonds of friendship and understanding between people of Central America, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
The host family plays a vital role in educating students about U.S. culture, values, beliefs and customs, and enables students to build lasting friendships. The opportunity to share in the daily life of a North American Family is among the most significant opportunities that a student will have during his or her program experience.
